Quick and easy reality capture
Hovermap collects detailed, accurate and georeferenced survey data.
Featuring unique – and industry leading – versatility, Hovermap can be deployed via drone, backpack, or handheld modes, enabling data capture in challenging environments.
Automated georeferencing and streamlined workflows accelerate efficiency, from scan to output, by removing manual and potentially error-prone tasks.
Use Hovermap for
Mobile mapping
SLAM-based mobile mapping provides exceptional mobility, allowing you to traverse quickly through a site to capture the data with a handheld scan. Hovermap also gives you the ability to capture more difficult or dangerous areas from the air by mounting it to a drone.
Mapping in more areas
Get accurate reality capture, even in small, tight, dark, or GPS-denied areas. Hovermap’s range of accessories and IP65 rating gives you the versatility and confidence to map any environment without fearing knocks, bumps, dust, rain, or extreme temperatures.
Survey grade accuracy
When used with Emesent’s Automated Ground Control workflow, Hovermap can provide unrivaled SLAM accuracy and survey grade point clouds. Automated georeferencing and streamlined workflows accelerate efficiency, from scan to output, by removing manual tasks.
Faster insights
Save time on set-up, relocation, and pack down tasks with mobile mapping, compared to terrestrial scanning. Faster processing time will enable you to start manipulating the data sooner and access insights faster.
GPS-denied mapping
Hovermap’s slam-based mapping allows capture in GPS-denied areas without ground control. Capture tight spaces in GPS shadow, inside metal structures, or dense forestry without concern for GPS fallout.
Hands-free mobile mapping
Increase personnel safety by keeping hands free while mapping forestry or areas that require handrail contact. One of Hovermap’s versatile options provides backpack-mounted scanning for easy, comfortable hands-free mapping.
Award Winning Solution
Use Hovermap for
Topographical Surveys
Quickly capture topo surveys with foliage-penetrating LiDAR to give you all the detail you need.
Deformation & Erosion Monitoring
Repeat scans to rapidly assess changes and highlight degradation, erosion, and other environmental impacts.
Urban Mapping
Facade mapping and inspection is easy with Hovermap’s omnidirectional Collision Avoidance and SLAM-based flight capabilities to ensure rapid and safe capture even in GPS shadow.
Bridge Inspection
Conduct comprehensive visual inspection and mapping of every part of a bridge. Hovermap’s autonomy, GPS-denied flight, and adjustable Collision Avoidance enable safe access from the tallest tower to under the deck.
Internal Surveys
Quickly walk Hovermap through the internals of a building to capture a detailed point cloud to create accurate floor plans or capture internal measurements.
Forestry
Quickly gain rich data and a full capture to provide tree height, diameter, canopy cover, species composition, and volume of trees for yield.
Conservation & Archaeology
Digitize older structures to update records, plan restoration work, or preserve details for virtual study.
Facilities Management
Use the accurate data of existing assets to plan maintenance and facility management.
Asset Inspection
Easily capture LiDAR data and inspection images of an entire asset. View the capture in real-time to be confident you’ve achieved complete coverage before leaving site.

Why use
Hovermap?
Unique versatility
The plug-and-play design and quick-release mechanism allow easy switching between modes. Use Hovermap as a handheld scanner; attached to a drone, vehicle, or pole; lowered in a cage; or mounted to a backpack to easily collect data anywhere. The compact, lightweight design makes it easy to carry and provides longer flight time.
Speed of capture
Hovermap’s SLAM-based mobile mapping allows for the capture of data up to seven times faster than traditional methods. The powerful combination of precision engineering, world-leading SLAM algorithms, and robust drone autonomy capability provides accurate LiDAR mapping.
When millimeters matter
Emesent’s Automated Ground Control further increases the accuracy of Hovermap point clouds. It enhances the capabilities of its SLAM-based mapping – improving SLAM accuracy and removing drift or slips to deliver survey grade results.
PointCab Origins integration
This integration enables PointCab Origins to automatically detect a Hovermap scan and selects the project settings for the best results, resulting in clear images with more accurate vectorization. It will streamline the point cloud to model workflow, saving users time.
